Our Promise

At Blossom Paws, our puppies are raised with love and care by our family from the very beginning. Each puppy goes home with a veterinarian-signed health certificate, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, health guarantee, and a puppy contract. We also send a special take-home bag with a bed, toy, treats, and a small bag of their current food to help them settle in comfortably. When you choose one of our puppies, you’re part of the Blossom Paws family too, and you’ll have our lifetime breeder support. We’re always here to help. We’re excited to help you find the perfect new addition to your family. Blossom Paws, where every puppy blossoms with love.

Understanding IVDD in Dachshunds 🐾

At Blossom Paws, the health and well-being of our puppies is extremely important to us. We believe every family should understand the unique characteristics and health considerations that come with owning a Dachshund.

Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) is a spinal condition that Dachshunds are predisposed to because of their long-backed, short-legged body structure. While responsible breeding and health testing are important tools, no breeder, genetic test, or bloodline can guarantee that a Dachshund will never develop IVDD during its lifetime.

A puppy may develop IVDD even when its parents have never experienced back problems. Genetics are only one part of the picture, and a Dachshund’s body structure, age, weight, activity, environment, and other factors may contribute to spinal health.

We encourage every Blossom Paws family to protect their Dachshund’s back throughout their lifetime by maintaining a healthy weight, using ramps when appropriate, limiting repetitive jumping from high furniture, providing regular appropriate exercise, and discussing preventive spinal care with their veterinarian.

By choosing a Dachshund, families acknowledge that IVDD is a known health risk associated with the breed and that the future development of IVDD cannot be completely predicted or prevented by the breeder.

Our goal at Blossom Paws is not only to send our puppies home loved, but also to educate their families so they can provide them with the healthiest and happiest life possible.
